Go to for help with finding a book's AR level & point value!
1.  Each student will receive a point goal to reach by the end of the marking period.  It is the student's responsibility to be sure they reach their goal by the end of the marking period.
2. Only one book per marking period can be 2 points or less.  The rest should be 3 points or higher.
3.  Students may submit up to four AR tests for grades.  Not all students will be able to submit 4 scores as they may reach their goal with fewer books.  Submitting fewer than four AR scores will NOT affect their grade in a negative way.  A percentage grade for reaching their goal will also be given.  For example, if a student's goal is 12 points for the marking period and they read 12 or more points they will receive a 100%.  If a student accomplished 10 of their 12 points, they would receive an 83%.  Students are also required to take at least one AR VOCABULARY test on the book of their choice per marking period.
4. Points earned beyond the point goal will not be carried over to the next marking period.  However, students that read extra books can have them considered as extra credit;  higher scores would replace lower scores for comparable books.  Students can also read extra books during the marking period to earn more AR points.
5.  Students will receive rewards for obtaining their AR goals each marking period!!
6.  Students must reach their goals three out of four marking periods in order to attend the "End Of The Year AR Picnic"!!
**Please remember that these are guidelines for 6th grade AR, but ability and other special circumstances may alter these guidelines for some students.  Some exceptions may have to be made to better meet the needs of students.
